Definitely new to bikes, had a few as a kid but that's like saying you had a gf in kindergarten :/ recently picked up a 2003 trek 7300 from a local shop for cheap and decided biking the 8 miles to work isn't nearly as bad as my fat-a** thought it would be. big into cars, never even thought of bikes until now, but i love modifying anything, so before I go asking for opinions on where to start for advice, what section would I fit in most haha. Definitely don't race, just ride around town and to/from work, but I'd love to make it lighter, and I really don't need 21 speeds so advice on turning it into 10 would be great!
