Boston!
Hello all,
My name is Jack and I'm from Boston, MA. This fall I plan on riding a Surly Long Haul Trucker across this wonderful country with a friend of mine and I'm going to be needing a lot of advice, seeing as I want to assemble the bike from the frame up. I've got a good shop near me with a staff who are well-versed in the ways of Surly bikes, but I'd like to go to them with a good idea of what I want.
I'll be around! Glad to be here (the internet is a destination).

Welcome to the Forums. I'm a year round commuter from Kenmore Square to Norwood and an ocasional centurian. Years ago my wife and I also toured, including a cross country trip from Los Angeles to Washington, DC.
IMO, there is a pretty large Boston contingent on Bike Forums, notably commuters and recreational road cyclists and I'm glad to meet another. Where are you located and what kind of cycling do you do now? Who's your bike shop (I go to Back Bay Bikes).
Looking forward to further posts.
