Hello from Tampa Bay....

Hello to everyone. ..My name is Mike and I'm looking to get into road cycling. I currently have a Specialized Rock Hopper that I have had for about 8 years. I love that bike........but lately I've borrowed a friend's Giant road bike and realized what I've been missing!!! I really had a great ride....it was only about 18 miles, but it went pretty quick.
So....I'm looking for a road bike now and hopefully some of you can steer me in the right direction. I plan on going to my LBS to get measured to be sure I buy the right size and find a good used bike.
Well...enough blathering.........just wanted to say hello and see you on the forums.

Mike

Thanks everybody....I live in the Trinity area so I mostly ride the Starkey Park Trail and the Suncoast Pkwy. I can also ride there from my house which is nice.

I've been over in clearwater once before. They have some nice seperated lanes there. Might be a good place to ride the roadie when you get it.

You live in my stomping grounds. If you do the Starkey and Suncoast trails, we've probably passed each other. Great trails for speed and distance. Once you get set up with a bike and feel up to a longer ride, feel free to send me a pm.

Thanks FLvector.......I may have passed you if you ride the trail on the weekends. It may take me a few months to get up to speed to be able to ride as fast as others do. I see some of the packs of riders that are on the Suncoast and those guys are pretty fast.....at this point I wouldn't be able to keep up.
I'll send you a PM however, as I'd like to meet some fellow riders in the area.....thanks!
