Trading in horse power for peddle power...

Hey guys im new here to the site. Been about 10 years or better since I rode a mountain bike. Im looking for some help on what style to get for my size and weight, 6'3 280 pounds...I want a road style but something if i wanna hit woods I can do that as well. I have a very nice oregon scientific watch with all the fixins, and can't wait to get a bike, but im just needed some guidence on what one or where to go....any and all help would be awsome...
