Hello all and thanks for the many reads in the forum..many well experinced riders here who's knowlegde I'll try and soak up.
I'm a 44 yr male who runs mostly but uses cycling as my cross training. Doing so has increased my love for rideing and now I find myself riding more then running.
I have stopped driving my 300 to work and now ride. 8km each way. On the weekends I have incooperarted a 50-60 km Sunday morning ride...here is the kicker. I ride an old Giant ATX 780 mnt bike, I have changed the tires from 2.5 knobbys to 1.4 slicks to improve resistance but the 2 hr ride is enduring as it should be; it's purpose is to improve my endurance for 1/2 marathons.
I still run during the week and on weekends and recently posted my fastest 5k time at a relay Duathilon..mind you I'm not built for speed..6ft and 225lb but proud of my new 5.11 pace....and I owe that to cycling.
Thanks all for information on this site and making the forums a daily read .
Cheers

Welcome to Bike Forums Mattys. I assume you're from Oakville, Ontario? You'll find commuting to work to be addictive. Especially after work when you have to burn off some frustrations from work. I also get in some longer rides on the weekend. I usually get in 60 to 90 km's on the country roads. Very relaxing!
