Help with choosing new wheel set
I own a 2007 G.F. Cobia 29er (Disk Brakes). I wore out the hubs and need to get a new wheelset. I put a lot of miles on a week - at least 100 miles. I weigh 215 lbs. and commute with this bike adding an additional 15 - 30 lbs. each trip. I ride in all weather - rain/snow/ice (roads have a lot of sand and salt on them) and ride hard. I was going to have the local bike shop build a set of wheels using Shimano XT hubs, but then read some bad reviews. I need value as resources are not limitless; but I want to consider that quality up front can translate into value to dollar over time. Anyone have some suggestions/thoughts.

I don't know the XT hub in particular, but generally Shimano hubs are seen as a solid choice, with good return on your investment.
Perhaps the XT is built too light for heavy riders (as higher end parts sometimes are) but if that's the case, a Deore or Deore LX should be fine.
I also think that some people also talk poorly about whatever doesn't cost a small fortune, it helps to justify their own spending. Not that I would mind at all having Phil Wood hubs.
