They call me Bob

Hi, I'm Bob. I don't really think of myself as a bicyclist, but I am more than just a guy that rides a bike once in a while. I live in the fine city of Camarillo, California, where we are blessed with 365 bike riding days a year, it's always 72 degrees here, summer or winter. Like today.

I have two bikes on here and one in Thailand. My bike here is a Soma Groove MTB, that is kitted out in XT, without any shocks and a nice steel frame. For whatever reason I ride on streets most of the time but I also like to get into the Santa Monicas ans explore other dirt areas around Camarillo.

My bike in Thailand is a 1994 Marin Point Reyes. Back then they made hybred bikes with high quality compenents as this came with a LX/XT mix. I took my bike over there for a short tour that I did, you might want to take a look at the story of it, www.thailand.crazyguyonabike.com Next time I will use it for a tour from Bangkok over to Southern Laos and back, next Feb, if you're interested in going let me know, I'm looking for a partner.

I've been reading the forum for a while now but never noticed this section until today. I like to read the touring section and the MTB section.

Welcome to the forums Bob!! My son lives in Camarillo, so we visit there once a year or so. While out there we always envy the weather they get! Although I have never ridden there, Camarillo also appears to be pretty much bike friendly too.
