Dilemma
Hi all. Newbie here. Like many baby boomers, I'm just now getting into riding bikes again for the first time in many years. I've found a lot of nice trails near me. Mostly all asphalt with a few gravel ones. My current bike is a 1989 Schwinn Neu Citi. I'm now in the market for something better, as I have more time and a few more $. Here is my question for you guys that know much more about bikes than I. I've come across two bikes in pawn shops. One is a 2006 Specialized Crossroads Elite. The other is a Trek 7.5 FX. The price on the Specialized is $200, and the Trek is $270. Both bikes show normal wear. Mostly scratches from locks and minor rust. If you were I which would you purchase? Or maybe I should look into getting a new entry level hybrid in the $300-$400 range? Thanks for any advice you can offer. I should add that I would probably be riding between 100-200 miles weekly.

Thanks. I thought maybe I'd save a few bucks by going the pawn shop route, since both bikes ride really nice, but the thought of a brand new bike with a warranty is appealing too.
