Hello from the mountains of Flagstaff, AZ

Hey everybody I'm Reid.

I'm a senior at Northern Arizona University studying music performance and, since school has let up a tiny bit, over the last couple months I've become a much more serious rider. I was a little ambitious and decided to go for the complete 109 mile El Tour de Tucson (my first century) so I've been training on my own for a couple months now. I've come here a lot for riding advice (and motivation) and I figured it was about time to join the community.

I ride what I can afford which is my entry level 2007 Giant OCR1 (and, unless I can't trade it out for something else, that's what I'll be riding on El Tour). My commuter bike is an old but feisty Trek 1100 that I bought off of craigslist and had the bike shop fix up (I wish I was handy enough to say I did it myself).

That's about it. Expect me to lurking around the long distance forums for a while and probably in the infamous "should I shave my legs?" forums.

Welcome to Bike Forums, Reid. Please lurk in the Long Distance forum and feel free to ask any questions you have about training for your century.
