Longtime rider.. new to road bikes :) please help!

Hello im restoring a kinda old bike that was bought new in 92 and in great condition except the tires and tubes! I have a rim that is 25/28-622 and would love to get this baby up and running any ideas were i can get some white tires online? Do you lube sealed bearings? and how "heavy duty" of a tire can i get? I love speed but curbs I am told are destroyers of these bikes. Thanks so much in advance for your response and I look forward to being on this forum alot
