newbie from emeryville, ca need advice

hello,

...hunting for a lightweight steel frame and fork. I have a Shogun frame that was totaled in a wreck and need to strip the parts and build a new bike...

im in the bay area, specifically emeryville, ca.

can anyone direct me to a good reputable inexpensive store that can sell me a used 70's - 80's road frame around 52 - 53cm?

also: will i have bottom braket dimension load problems while exchanging that gear to any other frame that is not a japanese (shogun model)

thanks alot,,,,,

There's not a whole lot of retail stores in our area (I'm in Contra Costa) that will sell used frames/bikes because of liability issues. There's a place in Oakland that does but it is known to be in trouble in the past. It was raided a couple of years ago and they found a lot of stolen bikes there. I mention that because in case you stumble upon it I wouldn't recommend that place.
