Hi! I'm a cyclo-journalist who commutes by bike. I have a mountain bike with a thrashed front derailleur, so haven't been able to get out on the trails (it's dry and mostly sunny in California; really nice weather for being outside). I'm one of the publishers of Cycle California! Magazine ( and click on the image of our cover pdf if you're so inclined).

I'm always interested in reading others' impressions of this outdoor activity we all love to do.

Welcome to Bike Forums, Tracy! Check out the Northern California regional forum for local riders in your area.

Do you ride other bikes besides your MTB?
