Hi From Upper Willamette Valley in Oregon

I bought into bike riding at the age of 5 and survived learning about bikes the hard way till I was 21.

Bought a Mertz touring bike in Portland Oregon when I was 21 or should I say 1979.

Still own that bike but have not taken in out on any expansive rides. Day trips.

I've commercial fish halibut, cod, and salmon in Alaska since 1976. The work has altered my hands to where I can only tolerate certain positions on a handle bar for over an hour. When I give up the boat life I know that will improve. Tried a semi-recumbent. Might go recumbent eventually.

Bikes are great, don't let anyone tell you different.

Wife just bought an electric assist/hybrid bike from local seller. She has a desk job and needs the extra push assist. Now we can bike together again !!!

Buy the way the electric assist bikes are starting to make a lot of tech headway. Better than not riding for those who need to build muscle mass, shrink off fat, or get somewhere sooner than they can manage without assist.
