Yuba Mundo rider in Oakland, CA

Hey everyone,

I'm Michael Fitzhugh. Since developing what my wife would call a cargo biking obsession late last year, I've been having a great time riding and learning about every kind of heavy-duty carrier out there, from longtails to bakfiets.

My primary ride is a Yuba Mundo v3 from Sausalito, Calif.-based Yuba Bicycle. I pedal my kids (ages 1 and 3) to and from preschool & daycare on days when the weather cooperates and when I'm not too exhausted from my other aerobic pursuit, running. My other bike is a folder, a Dahon Helios 8.

I don't know a lot about the technical side of components and repair—yet! But I hope to dive into BF.net to learn and share everything I can. Work-wise, I'm primarily a reporter these days. But I also am Yuba's official social media tsar, maintaining the company's presence on Facebook, Twitter, etc. If you have any Yuba-related questions, I'm happy to try to answer them.

First and foremost, I'm here to contribute to a bigger discussion of cargo and utility biking. I'm looking forward to participating!

Welcome Michael to Bike Forums.
What is the best site for the most detailed information on the Yuba's?

Thanks! I'd say that the best sites for finding detailed information about Yuba Mundos is <https://www.yubaride.com> and our blog, which is here: https://yubaride.com/yubamundo.blog/

I also really enjoy reading about how people are using their Mundos. In particular, I like reading A Most Civilized Conveyance and the My Yuba Mundo Build blog.

If you have trouble finding any information you're looking for regarding the Mundo, I'd be happy to dig up whatever you're looking for. Just let me know.

Happy riding!

- Michael

Hi mfitz. I have been using a V2 Yuba Mundo for about 5 months now and I couldn't be happier with it. I was surprised just how much fun it is to ride for the fun of it. Also means I can pick up things like furniture and plywood sheets which wouldn't have been possible before.

That's great to hear! I love seeing pictures of folks carry big and heavy stuff on their Mundos. Like you, I also enjoy riding mine just for fun. Once I have dropped my kids off for the day, the bike just seems to fly (relative to being loaded with 50 extra squirmy pounds of lovable "cargo")!
