Rookie from St Louis MO

Hello from the midwest! Just recently discovered cycling and am in love. This site has been invaluable in my research so I thought I would become a part of the community. I am in the process of purchasing my first bikes ( one ready to ride, and one that I want to refurb and do all the work my self) if anyone would like to help with advice on either it would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the addiction! When you have specific questions about the bike build, post them in Bike Mechanics section. Regarding the new bike, depending on what kind your intended riding is (road cycling, commuting, utility, recreational) you could search the appropriate forums for buying advice. If you have narrowed it down to specific models, you can ask for opinions as well.

A general "what should I buy?" will be impossible to answer, so try and give as much background info (budget, what you plan to do with the bike, will you be riding year round or just sunny weekends etc) as you can.

To err is human. To moo is bovine.

Who is this General Failure anyway, and why is he reading my drive?
