Hi from MA - Middle age & back on 2 wheels!
Hi all! I'm in my mid-30s, and am getting back into bicycling for the first time since my early 20s. When I was younger, I'd really enjoyed local rides on my old road bike (a steel-framed Lotus - solid, heavy, and a few inches too short for me). 15 years and 50 lbs later, I've decided that it's time to get back in the saddle and try some bike commutes. Thanks in part to input from past BF threads, I've picked up a 25" Trek 7.3 (I'm 6'5", and it's the first adult bike I've been on that actually fits correctly). This week, I've accomplished my first 16mi round-trip commute to work (in 40 degree weather, even!). Even though I did have to cheat a couple of times and walk it up hills, I was thrilled with the experience. I'm looking forward to the many miles ahead, and am glad to have such a great forum to rely on!
