Hello from the Jersey shore area.
Hello All,
Just started riding last year. I'm hoping to tap into the wealth of knowledge accumulated in the forums, and perhaps even find some kindred spirits close by the Tom's River / LBI area.
I started riding on my teenage 10-speed - an Italian made Mariella, which is the subject for a whole different thread titled "What the heck is a Mariella?".
After blowing through two freewheels, one set of pedals, and shattering one front brake, I treated myself to a new Trek 1.2 for my 50th birthday. I still have the Mariella - I would like to completely overall and restore it one day.
Anyway, I'm still fairly novice - I try to do 5-6 20 mile rides a week and average above 16mph. Which can sometimes be interesting in the face of 20mph coastal "breezes".
So, again, hello to all!
