New Guy From Indiana Checking In

I had fond memories of family bike rides on the Elroy Sparta trail in Northern Wisconsin growing up.

I haven't really been on a bike in 15 years, and moved to Indiana 10 years ago. With an 11 month old I thought it wise to get in shape now so she can maybe grow up with similar memories to mine.

My dad gave me the 1984 Trek 520 touring bike he purchased after cooking the brakes on a Bottechia at Holy Hill in Wisconsin towing I and a friend in a cart. The guys at the local bike shop couldn't believe how clean my vintage Trek was, which is great because it always was a great rider according to my dad.

In any case I'm looking forward to getting back into riding my Bicycle, and plan on riding it to and from work at least once a week once I'm in a bit better shape (7.4miles each way)

Cheers Absenth and welcome to Bike Forums!

Start riding and you'll be commuting daily by bike quicker than you'd expect. I'm a bike commuter and utility cyclist myself, and I can safely state it's an addiction.

Here's one photo of each of my rides. I like riding the second bike a LOT more than the first.
