Bike Forums - Hey Hey, My My from Alaska

I'm 42 and enjoying my life in Anchorage, Alaska. What can I say...I've been riding fairly seriously most all my life, but never competitively. From that little red tricycle, to the bannana seats, to the old steel frames where we would rip off the chain guards and anything else that added wieght to them. Those midnight rides through the college campuses in Conway, Arkansas and the three years of traveling and working throughout the country that offered some inspiration/mecca for biking (Colorado, San Fran area, etc.). I have both a road bike and mountain bike (just got a new one...Specialized Stumpjumper Expert - love the Carbon....) I live on top of a mountain and regularly commute to work. The return climb home lights up my life and my legs...grrr, but would not exchange it for anything in the world. I also tend to ride year round, with any knowledge of Alaska, you might assume that it gets a little cold and a little snow. Full body gear and studs on my tires helps but at 20 below it still pushes your mind, body, and soul to fullfill my love for all things biking.
