Hello from Harveys Lake, PA
 

Harveys Lake is outside the Wilkes Barre/Scranton area. I'm just getting back into cycling in my 40's. I bought a low-end cyclocross from BD in April. Been riding like a madman ever since; almost time to change the tires.

Harveys Lake is about 10 miles around and basically flat, so I'll go there and "do laps", putting my HR at about 85%. Around the lake, things are hilly, so I'm developing rides to "explore the contour of the land". Maybe it's only in my head, but I can feel a cardio benefit already. I'm definitely riding much easier than when I started. I don't have to use the "granny gear" as much as I used to.

Having lots of fun. I'm glad I made the decision to buy a bike this spring.

Did you get the Fantom Cross CX?

Yes, that's my bike. Some of my riding is on dirt roads or maintained trails, so I chose a Cyclocross over a Road bike. Making my own adjustments has been (and continues to be) a slow learning process, but I'm improving.
