Hello from D-burg

Hello everyone!
My name is Jordan from Dillsburg, Pennsylvania. Im 18 and i've just recently decided to get into cycling. I am very much a beginner in all senses of the word. I used to ride bikes with my family on vacations when i was little but never was a serious biker. I have been running a good bit recently and i just recently decided that i want to take on biking as well.

Im pretty excited to get started but obviously i would need a bike to get started with. I've been doing a bit of research myself but i really have no idea what im looking for so if anyone could give me any guidance as far as a good bike to start out on, what kind to get, and whatever other words of wisdom you have would be more than welcome.

Any response would be greatly appreciated and i look forward to starting off a new exciting hobby!

Welcome to Bike Forums, Jordan!

It's really hard deciding what type of bike to get until you figure out what kind of riding is best for your needs. Stop by the General cycling area and cruise around there first. Maybe even start a thread telling others you are pondering this decision.

Good luck and have fun!

for the time being im planning on road biking and maybe a little mountain biking now and again and eventually i want to try and get into some racing. However, since that is pretty far off im just looking for a good road bike. price range wise im not exactly sure what a "cheap" bike is considered to be but i guess i would go on the lower end of the spectrum for price but i still want a bike thats not gonna fall apart on me every few miles. Thank you for the suggestions!
