Hello from Ontario!
Hello
My 'name' is iRideMyBike (aka Jen) from Ottawa, Ontario. I've been commuting to work by bike for eight years now - each year the season gets a little longer. Last winter, for the first time, I managed to cycle year round. I'm hoping this winter is as successful as last (we had a very mild winter in comparison to previous years).
Hubby and I also enjoy cycle-touring and usually dedicate part of August for a trip/tour. My challenge, and part of the reason I've joined this forum, is to try to figure out how to do this more efficiently (packing is the main issue - at this point in time, there'd be no way we could do a self-supported tour and get the bikes over a hill) and to successfully include the kids in this activity. My son (13) is all for it, but my daughter (11) is a little less enthusiastic about the idea.
For commuting, I ride a Scott (SUB series) and in winter or really nasty weather I take out the trusty Trek 3700. For touring, I ride a Cannondale T1 - I really like it.
Looking forward to exploring the forums!
Later!
