Hello
Joined yesterday. I've been thinking about it for a long time, and I've finally got round to it. My real name is James and I'm an English teacher. Picardy is the name of the region where I live in the north of France. I'm a British guy, but I've been living in various parts of France now for 13 years and so I know the country pretty well.
I started cycling seriously when I was 15. One day I decided to stop cycling in circles and head northwards from my house in the south west of England to see how far I could go - I ended up in John o' Groats in the north of Scotland; then I cycled home. Since then, I'm hooked! I now do touring as much as I can - and I'm on Warm Showers so I can meet other like-minded people. This year I'm off to Greece - hopefully I won't get killed on those dangerous Greek roads!
Nice to be here!

Hi catonec
Thanks! Looks like you've got a couple of nice bikes, there. I have an old, antique racer which I'm going to do up soon. I don't have many photos of it, but a couple of years ago I cycled to Barcelona on it, so here's it is in front of Gaudi's Cathedral:
I love this bike - despite its age. But my main bike these days is a touring bike made by the Scottish Edinburugh Bicycle Co-operative. This suits me better, as I'm a touring cyclist rather than a racer. It's made for comfort and strength and does me very nicely. Here it is in front of the Adriatic in northern Italy:
This is the bike I'm using this year to cycle round Greece. I really hope the airplaine handlers don't damage it!
