Trike and other Bents

My name is Harry, at 63 am re-entering the world of cycling and cycle touring. For various reasons I have chosen to go with a trike and would like to hear from others especially in the Mid Atlantic (I'm in Baltimore) region who ride "Bents". I will do a moderate amount of local touring this year and am planning an extended trip in China spring of 2013.

Welcome Harry. I'll be 66 next month. Recumbents and trikes are things I don't plan on thinking about for at least 10 more years so can't help you with info on either. Stop by the 50+ forum and ask the "old timers" about bents and trikes. You might also ask in the Recumbent forum. Lots of friendly, helpful folks here.

Thanks Ron

Thanks for the info. It was a difficult decision to go the trike direction but after much research and many rides I decided on a custom built trike and should be receiving it 1st part of December. Have three tours planned for spring thru fall of 2011, all near the Chesapeake Bay.
