"newbie" from San Diego

Hi All:

I just joined this forum last week soliciting input after I decided to purchase a vintage bike. I was pretty amazed that after only about 20 posts back and forth with other members, I decided on which bike (notice I am speaking in the singular!!!) to purchase: A raleigh Lady Tourist DL-1.

A day or two later, I saw one posted in San Francisco and I drove up there to buy it, but came back with a matching one for my S.O. (so much for wanting to make a single purchase).

I am thrilled with the bike(s) and I am having a lot of fun exchanging posts with other members. I find the people on this forum are very informed; not stingy about sharing their expertise; great listeners and very community oriented.

I wanted a bike that I could use for doing some leisurely neighborhood activities. I live near downtown San Diego and my neighborhood is surrounded by little "villages" that make for nice bike destinations and so far the DL-1 has met my requirements.

Welcome, Daisy101! Do you have any photos of your new bikes?

Don't forget to stop by the Southern California regional forum and say hello.
