Hello from Ann Arbor Mich.

Looking to do some research on these forums to help me purchase a comfortable long distance buy fast road bike.

My first two bikes have not panned out so I want my next purchase to be thought out with as much knowledge as possible.

Thanks

Tell us everything about your motor.
Age, weight, where do you ride. Flat roads, hills?
What were the first two bikes?

The Tri Cross is a great bike.

Last summer I rode from NY to LA.
One of the riders had a Tri Cross and she road everyday, every mile for 58 days, 4200 miles.

Fast comes from the motor.
Comfort comes from the bike set up like a touring bike.
On the same ride last summer, Roy rode a touring bike.

Just guessing that you are trying too hard too fast.
Take on one problem at a time.

Ask specific questions for your problems.

It takes time and fitness to get to where you want to be.
I was able to ride 2000 miles last month. But it took me 34,000 miles of riding to get ready.

Do I have to be a paid member in order to post pictures?

Howdy and welcome to the forums.

Not sure about the requirements to post pictures. Try it and see, I guess- I'm seeing a little "Insert Image" icon above the box where I'm typing. If that doesn't work, you can put them on photobucket, and cut-n-paste the "img" data here, which is how I normally post pictures.

I'd suggest to jump on over into the "Long Distance" forum and ask specific questions there. I don't know that I'm the one to answer them, but reading your post, I'm wondering what specifically you don't like about the bikes you have.

One thing to watch out for is that you may never need the low end of your gearing on that triple, but if you do enough longer rides, at some point you'll wind up going up a hill steeper than you hit on your regular runs.

Let me rephrase the question. I don't see the Albums & Pictures link in Custom Settings.
