From Orlando, FL
Hi, posting from Orlando, FL. No bike as of yet, I am waiting for it to come in to a local shop... I haven't had a bike since I was probably 12, excited and impatient to get into it.
Have a 2011 KHS Vitamin A coming in, and the owner of the shops sounds as interested in it as I am since it is new for 2011. A link is in order;

Looking forward to an enjoyable time here.

Welcome, DB. Congrats on the bike. There are some great trails over there, like the West Orange.

There are many great trails accross the state listed there, too, if you care to travel a bit to ride. They are all worth the trip, IMO. I especially enjoyed the Nature Coast trail, and the parks and natural springs along the trail. That one makes a great weekend getaway.
I also enjoyed the Critical Mass ride there (last Friday of every month):

Some cyclists have strong opinions about this group, both positive and negative. I think both cases are over-stated. The impact of the ride, good or bad, is not that big. I rode it and did not have a problem with it, but you'll have to make up your own mind.
Some non-controversial rides:

Finally, after you've logged some miles, don't forget to test yourself against Sugarloaf Mountain. Just search for Sugarloaf Mountain road on something like Google Earth or Expedia. That area is a great ride (but not easy).
Good luck and have fun on the road or the trail.
