Introduction - Beaumont, TX
I am fairly new the cycling and have done a few supported rides, longest being 150 miles around Galveston Bay in October of last year. I have signed up for the BP MS 150 ride (Houston to Austin) in April. One thing I wanted to work on is increasing my average speed in order to get off the bike quicker.
I thought joining the forum would be a good way to get some good training tips and get help get myself prepared as I have only 13 weeks left. My biggest concern about this particular ride is the hills and the fact where I live is flat.

Hello calladj,
Welcome to Bike Forums.
Try riding some laps on a bridge if you have one there.

Howdy and welcome to the forums.
Don't be afraid to load the bike in the car and drive to where the hills are.
