Hi from Cardiff

As you may guess from my user name I'm well past my sell-by date :50: . Rode and rebuilt bikes a lot until thirty years ago then families/work/sport/life in general got in the way and I sold my bikes. Took it up again last year to get fit, but this time it's mountain bikes as the roads around here are rubbish/dangerous  . Now I'm hooked again  riding/buying/rebuilding and selling bikes as a hobby (not profitable sadly as it's usually for friends)- currently I have around a dozen in various stages. A big problem is that I like the bikes that I fix so much I often can't bring myself to get rid of them :o !! I also volunteer one day a week at a local bike training/recycling charity.

Haven't ridden much this winter, but hope to start soon - mostly Taff Trail/forest paths and light XC. Will be retiring soon so will have plenty of time and hope to find a like-minded group of old gits to have a bit of company for some rides  .

Welcome to BikeForums. Sounds like you have quite a collection of bikes. :thumb: Feel free to post pictures and if they're older bikes, the folks in the Classic and Vintage forum love pics of old bikes.
When you get a chance stop by the UK forum and introduce yourself.
And stop by the 50+ forum and meet the old timers. I'm one of them. I'm 66.

We have a 65-85+ thread on the 50+ forum - join us there. I'm 71.

Is that Cardiff, CA or England? If Cardiff, CA, I spent a lot of time there at my Grandpa's house - which he built and which is still there - on Newcastle Street - I believe it was 2360********** in old Cardiff - in the late 40's and early 50's when I was about 12 or so.

Neither, It's Cardiff, Wales. Excuse the following non bike related rant, but we Welsh get a bit miffed when Americans, and others outside Europe, refer to us as being in England. Wales, along with our bigger neighbour, England is one of four countries in the UK.

Anyway rant over. I've been to Cardiff by the Sea Ca., and it's a nice town - much sunnier and warmer, and with the Pacific to swim in.

It's a beautiful sunny day here, 10:15 a.m., and now the temperature has reached 40 degrees I'm going to go for a bike ride down to the Bay, perhaps have a coffee and a Welsh cake overlooking the harbour, and home again, a pleasant 20 mile circular ride. :thumb::thumb:

Will definitely be following the 50+ threads
