Hello Everybody
Hi, I've been browsing a lot of posts and decided to sign up. I've always (28 yrs) enjoyed biking, but am becoming more serious about it... again, recreational as opposed to practical. I have been commuting the past 4 years solely by bike on a Gary Fisher Wingra (Fast-City series, bottom of the line). I eventually made friends here (Boston Massachusetts) who enjoyed biking just to bike instead of as a mode of transportation. I started joining them on day rides and soon found myself wanting to purchase a road bike. Not wanting to buy cheap again, but surviving on a meager income, I bought a used 2000 Trek 5200 USPS.
That was about a month ago, since then I have spent almost all of my free time researching and acquiring parts, accessories and equipment. Then yesterday, finally, I took it out for a 50 mile ride. I loved it, except falling over once while stopped due to using clip pedals for the first time. I am now finished with accessories (for the time being) and learning about maintenance.
I look forward to maybe meeting new people on here, learning more and riding more often.
