hi everybody, just joined the forum because i figured it might be handy seeing as hopefully I am getting a job this summer as a bike mechanic, and would be good for quick questions and such. little bit about me, i'm from chicago, did a lot of riding there commuting to and from high school, about 16 miles round trip. Now i live in NYC, and commute every day from the bronx to brooklyn, so i get a good amount of miles in. my baby is my early 80s motobecane grand touring, which i have fitted with some velocity deep v's (8 speed, no fixing of gears for me. suntour components, dountube friction shifters are the way to go). not trying to brag, (whens the last time somebody said that and didnt brag?) but i cant remember ever being passed by another person on a bike.
tl;dr hope to get something out of this forum and maybe, maybe contribute a little.
