Hi from Huntsville, Texas.
I'm Dave, and I commute on a Trek 820.
I got into cycling in early June of this year, when my truck broke down and I couldn't afford to get it fixed. I started out on a piece of junk Huffy that my parents got from a garage sale. In late July, I don't know exactly how, but I tore up the front cogs and front derailleur, and when I took it to a couple of bike shops to see about getting new parts for it, I learned it would be about as expensive as getting a new bike.
Since I had no sentimental attachment to that bike, I upgraded to the Trek, and have been riding it ever since.
