Starting out on a Wabi Lightening
Hello people of bicycle world. I've been lurking here for awhile as I tried to figure out what sort of bike I wanted. I really appreciate the thoughtful posts I've found here. Now that I'm on my way I thought I'd post...
I've had road bike lust for awhile, but no actual riding experience. I wanted a bike that would allow me to try out road biking for fitness and fun, but would also cost less than a $1000 and be a simple machine I could ride down to the local bar as well.
I decided to buy a single speed fixie road bike. I realize that fixies aren't for everyone and also are a bit trendy and "hipsterish" but I'm really enjoying mine.
I bought a Wabi Lightening. Here's a picture and its specs:

I don't have any previous bike to compare this against but it feels light, responsive and quick to me. Richard Snook, the owner of Wabi, is a joy to deal with.
Again, thanks for all the informative posts here on this forum. Hope I can contribute.

Nice looking bike.
Houston should be flat enough for it.
Have fun Colin.
