Hello from Yakima, Washington
Hi everyone. I'm from Yakima, WA. I just started getting back into cycling last year but than just kind of quit during the winter but am now trying to get back into it but I am having some trouble since I just recently developed tinnitus that likes to act up when I ride
. Currently I have a 90's Trek 930 singletrack mountain bike with slicks on it but hopefully I can find a nice used road bike soon.

Welcome to the forums! Sucks to hear about the tinnitus, I hope you can still enjoy cycling to a degree with that condition.

Yeah, it was pretty devastating at first but I'm slowly getting used to it. It just sucks that I can't push myself now or else it acts up.

You don't have to answer if you don't want, do you think the tinnitus is blood pressure based? Higher BP or Pulse the louder it gets or does it just get worse, meaning you have the ringing all the time? I have on occasion, when I push really hard get almost hearing loss due to my pulse racing, at that point I know I need to back down a bit. I am a fat butt though, sitting at 296 as of yesterday. I am working to loss the weight through biking, loving it I must admit.

I don't think so. I just went to see my doctor today and my blood pressure was normal but I do notice that if I push it and get my blood really pumping I can hear it in my ear sometimes as a sort of loud thump. But my tinnitus seems to be due to allergies. I just hope this either goes away or a "cure" is found in the near future because I love cycling, I really wanted to start mountain biking and try and get into shape to ride from my city to Spokane with a friend who has also picked up cycling (200 and some odd miles). Oh well I'll just do what I can for now.
