Hello from Downtown WV
Hello!! Thanks for having me. As I noted other mentioning, I didn't want to join yet another forum, but this place looks like a plethra of info that I'll be referencing quite a bit. I've been back on the bike (been off since I started driving!) for about 3-4 weeks now.
I'm cheap and handy, so I'm having a tough time justifying spending a big chunk of money on a nice bike. I've tried to at least get myself in the door with the local bike shops to tune up my shiney (not!) used and weathered Mongoose Paver, but when they tell me it will be $50 and 4 days wait, I just can't bring myself to do it. I figured out how to do what I thought needed done and the bike rides a lot better so far.
Hopefully I can get and give some info on how to enjoy the biking game without spending an arm and a leg to do it.
Now, off to search the forums on how I can frankenbike this Paver into something better than it was.
Thanks,
StreetNameJim

Welcome to BikeForums.
Only a 4 day wait? That's quick for this time of year. And $50 is cheap. Around here a tuneup is $80-100.
Ride it and enjoy it. Read thru the Bike Mechanics for repair help. Also read thru the Park Tool website and Sheldon Brown's website.

Doh!?!? Thats not encouraging me to use LBS Ron!!
I will check out the Bike Mech section ASAP! I've already enjoyed Parktools "point at the part and I'll tell you what articles we have about it" thing. It was very helpful.
here is the link for other's https://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help if interested.
Thanks for the welcome guys.
