Hey all, my name is Andy and I live in NoVA, transplanted from PA. Used to log the miles on my Trek 820 in my younger days, but then life got in the way... and my bike was stolen (bunch of savages in this town). Anyway, I'm riding an Allez now, and have the bug to get back on the road. I have two young kids now, and am open to any tips you guys/girls might have on how to get them involved safely.

Welcome to the forums Andy! I have two young children too, 9 and 10. Our school district has a class called Safety City, taught by the PD, that third graders go to to learn safe riding techniques. Our Safety City is a small one and I know they have larger type classes in larger cities. It is a great program, you might look around and see if anyone close to you offers something similar. Ride with them and teach them in the real world streets. I have been riding with my two and they make you proud with how well they mind the traffic laws and safe riding practices.
