hello from metro DC
Hi, neat to have found this forum. I'm a 58-yr old grandma who has been competing in duathlons and some time trials as well as going on lots of recreational rides in the MD suburbs of DC. Will be focused more on cycling now since I had knee arthroscopy which showed missing cartilage in knee. Less painful to ride than run and I love my bikes. Looking at a winter of indoor training mostly supplemented by gym wkouts.
Hello to everyone out there.

I am a 52 year old female in NOrthern CA. I want to get back into riding, after two knee arthroscopies this year. I was just told I was a slow healer. Yet, I have also been told I dcan do anything, as long as my knee tells me it is OK!
Anybody else out there have experience getting into long distance road bike riding at this age?
I di Team in Training, which was wonderful, highly reconmmended. I made it to 40 miles per day before my first surgery, which was huge for me.
I need an all around strengthening and then I think I will be more confident about getting back out on my bike.
I think a stationery bike might be the way to go for me.. Suggestions?

Hi MB2 from a fellow Washington-area rider. Do keep in touch and see you out biking around in the spring.
