Finsen: Welcome to the Forum. It was while I was in college many many years ago that I first joined a bicycle club, and through that club got a lot of the inspiration for biking that has kept me biking for most of my life. You may look into some of the local bicycle clubs in Berkley, but this forum will provide some of the resources that a club served for me. Keep biking and good fortune with your studies. I am a retired Physicist.

thanks~ i looked into my school's cycling club/team, and i also looked into the Berkeley Bike Club. But i am still not sure if i have enough spare time to join these groups for intense/serious biking. maybe for now i am going to bike for lesiure first, then i might join a club once my academics and biking skills are on track. by the way, i am an engineering physics major, so i'll definitely ask you about physics if i am stuck~~hahahaha~

Great to have you aboard but are you aware of the annual AIDS/LifeCycle 4 event from San Francisco to Los Angeles which usually takes place during the 1st full week in June each year (5-11 June 2005)? It's a great way to help support continuing research into the terrible disease and if I could I would organize a return trip event just for all us Angelinos down here during the hot weather months of July and August but I think I will reserve that trek to just me personally if the weather cooperates.

Welcome, Finsen! And Go Bears! Look for me at Memorial on Saturday: I'll be the guy in the blue and gold sweatshirt.

Yeah, definitely check out the Cal Cycling Club, especially if you think you might be interested in racing. They seem like a nice bunch of folks. I wish I'd gotten involved when I was an undergrad but I was too busy hanging out at Kip's drinking beer.

Ah, this is bringing up memories of rides up Strawberry Canyon on my trusty Schwinn World Sport....
