Hello from Central Massachusetts

Shrewsbury actually. Decided to get back into cycling 3 years ago, and bought a
Trek 7300. Before this, I had a Peugeot Ventoux from '87, but hadn't ridden in 15 or
so years. Wanted something to ride with the family, my wife had a somewhat newer
LBS schwinn hybrid, and the kids (6 and 10 at the time) single speeds. Then we decided to upgrade all the family bikes.. Trek 7100 for my wife, 3600 hardtail for my 10 year old and mt 60 for the 6 year old, we put the Government stimulus money to good use!

We love going to Bike trails (though good ones are quite a drive away), and do 10-16 miles. In the meantime I got the urge to ride a road bike again, and bought a 2009 Giant Defy Advance 3. I usually do 70-100 miles/week on the road, and usually 2-4 family rides/month. Just took my younger daughter (now almost 9) on some back roads, and she absolutely loved it.. so maybe we'll be doing more rides close to home soon. I'm so glad that we decided to do this, and that the kids have taken to it, its great family time and great exercise.

My older daughter (now 13) outgrew the 3600, so She's now on the 7300 (likes the
narrow wheels), and I got a Bikes Direct Dawes Eclipse 3, to replace it. I definitely like having the hybrid for the family rides... and opens up some unpaved path options, and is a much more relaxed ride.

Howdy and welcome to the forums! It's awesome you and your family ride together. My kiddos are away visiting their mother, they will be home in a week and then we can log some miles together.
