MY Bike
I have just uploaded a picture of my bike and used it as the avatar.
It is in need of a bit of attention and wondered as it is from the 60's should I let a real enthusiast smarten it up, do it myself or just sell it to someone and get a more modern one?
It is as solid as a rock to ride although I need to replace the ball bearings in the right pedal, mind you if I do that I will renew the ones in the left pedal too.
I first thought the date of the bike was 1964 but as I passed my cycling proficiency test on it in 1963 it must be older.
It used to have a different seat cover and also a green saddle bag not a little one but one that you could fit 10lb of potatoes in.
best wishes
Vince

Ask the folks in the Classic & Vintage forum. They LOVE old bikes.

My dad taught me if I didn't know anything ask someone who does and they will usually be able and willing to help. This principle works if you have the intention of helping others too and be prepared to help them first if you can. It is amazing what you think is unimportant to you is very valuable info to others as they don't know it but because you do. e.g. If you don't know what a left hand thread is you might think anyone who talks about them is crazy.
best wishes
