New Roadie from Cali
I'm in my 40's and not long ago decided to get back into biking, so I bought a single gear to shed some pounds. I've shed 7 pounds and shooting for another 25: 200 is the goal. That's the weight goal, not the loss-pounds-goal, for you lawyers out there. I used to be a beast, so don't give me condescending pats on the back about the weight loss. Paypal transfers are the only sincere gestures I recognize. Anyway, the single gear was wearing me down, so I just picked up an early 80's Specialized Allez SE. Basically, I'm a noob and no gear head, so the learning curve is steep, but I'm hooked. Been enjoying reading the threads here and the generally good-natured members here.
