Bike Forums - Noob from Sherwood, OR

Hey all,

Hello from Oregon!

Starting to transition from Mt Bikes to Road Bikes. Doing my due diligence.
Any advice for a noob to the road gig?

I'm looking to pick up something for less than $400, used, that I will primarily use to ride to and from a bus stop for daily commuting. I will do light touring with my family on the weekends and evenings, nothing long. Occasionally I will join group rides for 20-40 mile stints and will also use it for the STP next year and following years as well....

I've been scouring Craigslist in my area and haven't yet got out for a test ride, but will be soon.

Any tips?
