Hi from Birmingham, Al
I have been riding most of my life, 4 years ago a friend convinced me to join him on a ride after work, I fell in love with it. I still consider myself new at this since the first season when the weather changed we stopped riding regularly, so I would ride when ever I had a chance. Riding on the road alone intimidated me. This year has been a turning point for me I no longer mind riding alone, although it would be fun if I had a regular riding partner, my husband isn't as enthusiastic as I am. I ride an average of 90 miles a week.
I turned 50 this year, and did my first half Century at the HH100 in Wichita Falls Tx this past August. I loved it so much I have registered for the MS100 in Orange Beach in a couple of weeks.
I love cycling so much that I try to get everyone I know to ride. For me there is nothing like it.
I read the threads all the time and really enjoy learning tips from all the more experienced riders.

Good for you - the way I remember Birmingham - you have a few hills to climb.

Welcome ZonaM.
Stop by the 50+ forum and say hello to the old timers. I'm one of them. I'm 66.
And stop by the Southeast Regional subforum and say hello to the locals. Lots of AL folks there.
