Tallyho
I will be lurking, for the most part. I'm going to get commuting to work (about 12 mile round trip) in about a month. I'm currently getting myself fit enough to get 'er done. 6 miles one way isn't bad, but 3.5 miles of the journey (the closest bit to my home) is extremely hilly and on a narrow country road. One section doesn't even have a center line. While the mornings won't be bad, as far as motor traffic, the afternoon/evening will be a challenge. I will have worked for 8.5 hours, mostly on my feet all day in a rather stressful profession, and have to pedal home those 6 miles, the last 3.5 being the "grizzly" part.
But I will be reading up in the meantime, hoping to learn from the masters, and probably throwing in my 2 cents along the way. And, did I mention? I don't know a speedtrap from a derailleur - did I spell that right? I haven't seriously ridden a bicycle since I was 15, and that was, ah, 31 years ago. I have some catching up to do.
