Oh boy! Another newbie!

Hello there,

I'm in the Pacific northwest, with a very avid biking population... in the rain.

I ride a 73 Schwinn World traveler. It's almost entirely original (except for the chain, tires, and bar tape of course) and quite Macgyvered together. She's been in my family as my mother had bought the bike new in the 70s and she just sort of got left in the garage (and outside) for a while until I was big enough to ride. Now it's been my learning project to restore!

I also have an 80's Murray cruiser that I unfortunately don't have up here.
I'm currently looking for a dependable commuter bike though for the Washington hills and rain.

I'm here because I want to learn more about bike mechanics so that I can fix my bike and be able to build a bike from the ground up some day.

That's enough about me... here's more of my bike

Welcome to Bike Forums.

I ride a yellow bike in the rain.
Be safe and have fun here in Bike Forums.

BF mechanics can help you with any problem.

The Classic and Vintage Forum is also a good forum for you.

Welcome to BF. Were those originally down-tube shifters that were moved? Don't think I've ever seen shifters on the top tube.
