ME student, in love with my 1983 Miyata

Hey everyone, I'm glad I found the bike forum! I'm a mechanical engineering student at Oregon State University, so needless to say I like fixing and tinkering. I've biked all my life, but only had cheap mountain bikes. Several months ago I finally got into biking and found a 1983 Miyata 12-speed on craigslist. I've already been having a blast learning to fix and maintain it, but I'm hoping that I can get some new ideas and advice on this site. Good to know there's a strong community!

Cheers GarthVDV, welcome to Bike Forums. That Miyata qualifies as Classic & Vintage, have a look in that forum if you didn't already. Also Bike Mechanics, if you have specific questions. Pictures of your bike will be required.

To err is human. To moo is bovine.

Who is this General Failure anyway, and why is he reading my drive?
