hello from Ohio
Got back into riding last year with the wife for exersize and to get back into the outdoors with her. She doesn't play golf. Missed riding for a long time, but the Hybrid bikes are not the same as a road bike.

Welcome aboard! and no they definitely are not!!!!!!! I cheated recently and took a sturdy steel road frame, but 700cwheelset on it with fat tires and call it my "grass racer" not the best trail bike, but definitely more road then a hybrid.
