Hi from Wa. State!
Hi everyone,
I'm new. In fact, I haven't bicycled since '74, when I rode my butt-kicken yellow Huffy. It had a clean black banana seat and an orange whip-flag. Playing cards in the spokes. Ahhh, those where the days. Anyway, I am now old, but I'm picking up the handlebars once again. My first ride? Ney Jersey to Washington DC. Ok, so let me back up a sec: I volunteered to peddle in the Police Unity Tour. I am very much looking forward to this challange. It's 320 miles over four days. May 2012. I just bought a bike, so I'm feeling pretty good about that, but MAN, my new seat is nothing like my old black banana beauty! There are eight of us, four from the Pierce County Sheriff's Department and four from the Lakewood Police Department, joining about 1400 others on this amazing trip, so I'm sure some of you are HERE! I know NOTHING about all of the new technology, so I am looking to all of you and your posts for help. I'm sure I will ask a lot of stupid questions along the way... Did I mention how much my taint hurts!?!?! Thank you for this great source of info and expertise! Deacon |
Howdy, good luck with your tour!
Yeah, your behind will take a bit of time adjusting to a bike seat, especially if one hasn't ridden in a while. |
Howdy Deacon,
Welcome to Bike Forums, I found that standing up while pedaling helps much. Check in with The Fifty Plus Forum for much help. http://www.bikeforums.net/forumdispl...Fifty-Plus-(50-) |

It's all good, 10. I was just thinking I was less old in '74!
Age is so relative, LOL |
