Hello from Northern VA
I'm one of those getting back into cycling after being away for 7 years or so. I started with mountain bikes in my late teens/early 20s. My brother talked me into training for a Century ride so I got a low end road bike. (that didn't work out so well...) After the century I mainly used a road bike just because it was easier to get out and ride where I lived at the time. After a while we got back into mountain bikes because friends talked us into doing a 24hr ride. Fast forward 7ish years and 2 kids later I got a 29er just to get back into riding. I like it because I've got slicks and nobies that I can easily swap out if I want to do off road or stay on the pavement with the kids. I'd put myself in the Clydesdale class (6'2 230) so the 29er works well. Looking forward to getting advice for the members on my next ride.
