Hello from Portland, OR

New to these forums. Stumbled here looking for advice on cycling shoes / clothing for a Clydesdale. I've been an avid cyclist since I was 7. Actually took my cheap mountain bike into the mountains as a kid. Had posters of John Tomac on my wall and a subscription to Mountain Bike Action. I gained weight in college to play football and then promptly lost 170+ lbs. while biking, getting up to a daily commute of 35 miles a day.

Unfortunately in 2008 a car t-boned me while riding. I was around 235lbs. at the time. I spent the next year in physical therapy. I gained so much weight in that time between being laid up, depression and the pain that I ballooned to where I am now. I finally got back on my bike today and I'm starting over, basically. Including pics for verification that I was once an athletic, avid cyclist. Now I'm trying to recover from that terrible day and get back to what I love.

Me in July of 2008

Me now...
